Family -- Married, for forty years, to the former Donna Cameron of Nova Scotia, Canada and Boston, an anesthetist in private practice.
Daughter, Jennifer, a graduate of the U. of Central Florida, is a graduate student pursuing a second career after a very successful first career in information management. 
Son, Joseph III, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, with a master’s degree from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins, is a decorated career officer in the United States Army.

Medically retired from the US Army Special Forces regiment (the “Green Service Berets”), due to combat-related injuries, after more than thirty years of service. Served in eight named campaigns and on expeditionary service. Received a number of U.S. & foreign awards and decorations. Graduate of Air Command & Staff College; National Security Management Program, ICAF, National Defense University; and many military courses related to special operations, unconventional warfare, and intelligence.
