USMAF Welcome Message

Welcome everyone to the Official Website of the United States Martial Arts Federation. We invite you to take a look around and learn more about the USMAF and the many organizations that have joined us to form this confederation of Martial Artists and organizations. As we continue to grow and organize, expect much more in the future to benefit the Martial Arts Community. The USMAF is a unique organization in many ways. Like most organizations, we have individual members, but the USMAF is unique in that we also have Partner and Affiliate Organizations that form our organization. Our Affiliates and Partners are not subordinate organizations, but rather are true partners in serving the martial arts community and promoting the arts. Our Affiliates and Partners form the core of our Federation and establish rank requirements and policies to govern members of the system or style which make up that organization. Additionally each Martial Arts Represented in the USMAF will have a sub-committee which will provide specific written rank requirements for that system. That way, our members that practice a specific art, know exactly what is expected in order to advance in rank. Some initial information has already been posted regarding our promotion policies and criteria. This information will be expanded upon as members of the Central Technical Committee discuss this important matter. However, this is what you can expect from the USMAF regarding promotional matters:

  1. Promotions will be fair and non-political

We will keep our standards high. Before we will grant rank to any individual, they must first possess rank credentials from an Affiliate or Partner organization, or go through the rank validation process. Rank WILL be based on technical excellence and not the size of the prospective member's checkbook. We would prefer to sacrifice numbers for quality.

  2. Written and specific rank requirements will be published for all martial art systems that are part of the USMAF. Members should always know where they stand in relation to rank requirements and the criteria for which they will be judged. Written rank requirements will be the FIRST (and by no means the only) requirement for becoming an Affiliate or Partner organization.

Some of the other things you can expect from your USMAF is:

Needless to say, the formation of a martial arts organization is a lot of work and we are working very hard to make the USMAF the "class-act" of the Martial Arts Community. Our motto, "Integrity, Honor, Discipline" are not just words, but it is how we will always conduct our business. We invite you and other leaders in the Martial Arts Community to join us in making the USMAF the very best organization of its type. If you are interested in joining us, then continue to look around and write to us at our National Headquarters at natlhq@usmaf.org. It is not us that makes an organization a success, it is YOU. We invite your comments, questions, and suggestions regarding the USMAF or this website. Please feel free to write us by using the information found on the Contact Information page.
